Most Expensive Cookware

There was one saying from my grandfather that stuck with me throughout the years – ‘If you don’t know what’s good, you know what’s expensive’. As I grew older I figured out that regardless of the simplicity of this saying, as well as the humor side, it is actually true. Price in most cases dictates the quality, and in this article, we’re going to check out if the same goes for cookware. So, we have found some of the most expensive cookware you can get online, and we have decided to check out if they are worth the money.

So what dictates the price?

The price in general is dictated mainly by three factors. Those three factors are supply and demand, built materials, and the process of manufacture. We’ll start with supply and demand. If there is a high demand for a certain product, the price will also go up. As different manufacturers look for their spot on the market, and they produce more of the desired product, the price will drop. While this is one of the important factors in economics, it doesn’t really have a huge impact when it comes to cookware.

The second factor is the use of the materials. Certain cookware manufacturers go as far as using silver for their products. As we all know silver is quite expensive and that of course directly affects the price. While this is not the case when it comes to most manufacturers, they still use expensive materials which hugely affect the price. So, the more expensive material is, the more expensive cookware will be.

Lastly, there is a process of manufacture. The manufacturing process can get quite elaborate. Some manufacturers use multiple steps which require human intervention as well. This, in the end, also has a big impact on the price.

How good is the most expensive cookware we found?

As you’ll be able to see below, we picked some great cookware. Some are less, some more expensive, but they all perform exceptionally well, and this goes for pretty much any method of cooking. Compared to significantly less expensive cookware, the difference is quite obvious, and the results truly speak for themselves. Now, whether the price justifies the difference, you’ll have to be the judge of that.

Without any further ado, let’s check out the most expensive cookware, which we also found to be some of the best.

Mauviel 2.5mm Brushed Copper Cookware Set
As we all know by now French are masters when it comes to cooking. They got numerous dishes which took over the world. This set from Mauviel is made in France, and it is our favorite pick when it comes to the most expensive cookware. The reason behind their quality lies in the use of two main materials, copper and stainless steel. Copper is great when it comes to even heating which means that food preparation should be a breeze even for inexperienced cooks.

The percentage of stainless steel is only 10% which isn't much, but it makes the difference. One of the great features are the stay-cool handles which won't burn you regardless of the heat. You can use it on electric, halogen, gas, and the oven, but we should mention that it is not intended for induction cooktops. While the manufacturer doesn't state that you shouldn't use it in the dishwasher, it is not recommended. The set comes with either 9 or 12 pieces, but we strongly recommend the 12-piece. The best thing about it is that it comes with a lifetime warranty.

All-Clad Copper Core 5-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware Set
Next, we are moving on to the All-Clad cookware set. It takes second place on our list, but honestly, the differences compared to our winner are minimal. Depending on your cooking methods, you might even prefer this one. It is made in the USA and it is top when it comes to quality. Their materials of choice are copper, stainless steel, and aluminum.

However, the configuration is a bit different. Nonetheless, if you are looking for cookware that will help you produce the best possible results, this is definitely one of the top choices. The set comes with 14 pieces, and while the manufacturer stated that it is dishwasher safe, they still recommend cleaning using only sponge and soap. When it comes to protection, it comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

JEETEE 23pcs Pots and Pans Set
The next set on our list is most abundant. It comes with 23 pieces that will satisfy all of your cooking needs. From all of the contenders on our list, this one is our least favorite. The main reason behind that is that it simply doesn't feel professional enough. It will help you reach professional results but on a lower level.

The reason behind this might hide in the fact that they use only one metal in the production - aluminum. The manufacturer also states that this cookware set is suitable only for the gas stove which is another huge disadvantage. In the end, while it can compare to the rest of the contenders with the price, quality is on a bit lower level, and you might be better off with our overall winner.

Culinary Edge 9 Piece Non-Stick Stainless Steel Cookware Set
This cookware set from Culinary Edge is simplistic, well made, and it will last you pretty much forever. Even though it is made exclusively from stainless steel, you'll be able to cook incredible meals using it. The built quality is on the top level and it can be used for everyday cooking as well as in a professional environment.

All of the pots come with glass tops which allow for easy monitoring. One thing that separates this one from the rest is the ability to be used on the induction cooktops. You get nine pieces which are enough to satisfy all of your cooking needs. While it might not be our top choice, it is definitely the one we recommend.

Viking Culinary Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set
The last one on our list is the Viking anodized nonstick cookware which is again top of the line when it comes to these types of products. It might not deserve to be on our most expensive cookware list due to the lower price, but we have decided to include it anyway. Compared to our previous top contenders, it does differ a bit. Every piece of cookware in the set is safe to use with metal utensils. Maintenance-wise, you can use a dishwasher to clean it.

One interesting thing about this set is that handles are hand-crafted, which does make it a bit more special, and honestly more comfortable. This set is great for beginner chefs mainly because it is significantly more affordable compared to the previous two. The single set which comes with ten pieces is not really a bargain, but it is an economical choice for anyone that needs quality cookware set on the budget.
